CN01 Salvage Technician (1-year contract)

Job Scope:  

The successful candidate A Salvage Tech performs setup, operates and adjusts one or more numerically controlled drilling and boring machines (with or without milling capabilities) where the feeds, speeds and cycle are fully controlled by encoded instructions

• Perform milling and drilling operations.
• Perform single point tool operations (boring, facing, turning, etc).
• Perform operator controlled close diametric tolerances.
• Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, Vanier calipers and chart results.
• Perform setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools, such as, drills, lathes, milling machines, boring equipment, shapers and grinders, to perform precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
• Perform analysis and select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
• Lay out, measure and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts within established tolerances.
• Safely perform basic welding using MIG and STICK techniques.
• Recognize and quarantine nonconforming materials and dispose of or route as directed.
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
• Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments.
• Follow established and documented International Standards Organization (ISO) processes for quality; for example, ISO 9001.

• Minimum NITEC or higher in mechanical/precision engineering with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.

• Ability to analyze sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and to determine product dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to operate CNC milling/lathe, grinding and drilling machines.
• Ability to perform welding will be advantageous.
• Intermediate knowledge in PC operations, software such as SAP

CN02 Qualification Technician (1-year contract)

Job Scope:  

The successful candidate will be performinga variety of inspection functions to check the quality and accuracy of salvaged parts and cleaned core.

• Inspect and qualify salvaged parts and cleaned core.
• Communicate findings, inspection results and recommendations to supervisors, operators and any other appropriate personnel.
• Recognize and quarantine nonconforming materials and dispose of or route as directed.
• Analyze and interpret blueprints, geometric tolerances, X Bar charts, R charts and other materials and data to determine specifications, adjustments and certification methods, formulas and measuring instruments required.
• Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems through quality stand-downs and/or material review boards.
• Present and discuss inspection results with those responsible and/or appropriate for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions.
• Record inspection or test data such as TIR, surface finish and other critical dimensions as needed.
• Monitor production/salvaged parts and processes to ensure conformance to specifications (including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
